@Rewfus - you know we need dust off the 360s to co-op Army of two!

#3

I dunno, it might be hard for me to pass up a chance to wipe the floor with you in MK X

#4

It got some rough reviews too…

“The elements that made its predecessors interesting have been all but destroyed, making Army of Two: The Devils Cartel a functional shooter but little more.”

Kevin VanOrd
GameSpot

" …a series that never lived up to the hype, and one I had started to forget by the time I was finished playing."

Man, you are getting old.

#6

Yeah yeah yeah, it’s a free game, might as well try it. I really just wanted to show off my fancy formatting.

  • Mafia II ($19.99 ERP): Available from May 1-15 on Xbox 360

On Xbox One, CastleStorm: Definitive Edition is a genre mash-up that combines medieval warfare with 2D physics-based destruction! Prepare to be challenged (in a good way) to manage a lot of battlefield elements at one time by controlling the battle in real-time, bombarding your enemy’s battlements with ballista-projected artillery, managing a fearsome ground attack, and casting powerful spells in epic conflict between Knights and Viking warriors! CastleStorm: Definitive Edition features a story-driven single-player campaign, a custom castle editor, online multiplayer and co-op modes, and more. Building castles and knocking them down has never been so much fun! In addition to the original CastleStorm campaign, the Definitive Edition includes two expansions, “From Outcast to Savior” and “The Warrior Queen” for the most complete CastleStorm package available.

Over on the Xbox 360, Xbox Live Gold members get treated first to Mafia II, which puts you in the shoes of Vito Scaletta, an Italian immigrant to America who finds himself wrapped up in an increasingly complex series of criminal plots in post-World War II America. As Vito, you’ll drive period cars all around Empire Bay, based on a pastiche of America’s biggest burgs, and blast your way through a variety of challenges, from bank robberies to ambushing rival gangs to sweet-talking your favorite molls. This is an enormous game with a lush, evocative narrative, and plenty of excellent writing and voice-acting to get you involved in the characters and the time period.

But when you feel like dropping out of the 1950s and into the cockpit of a more modern machine, you’ve got F1 2013 coming at the end of May on Xbox 360, which features all the cars, drivers and circuits from the 2013 FIA Formula One World Championship plus all-new classic content from the 1980s. If getting behind the wheel of the most sophisticated automobiles on the planet is your thing, then F1 2013 has you covered. Praised for its realism and its presentation, this game is an absolute must have for racing fans through Games with Gold, so don’t hesitate to press that download button when it comes up later in the month!

I don’t want to start any Xbox bashing here, but this is pretty disappointing, especially after Sony’s showing

I don’t want to bash Xbox either (I do, but I’ll refrain), but I’m not regretting letting my Gold membership expire last September. I’d be pretty upset if I was on the XBO team and did the math ($60 = 1 game vs. $50 = 5 games). Or did MS lower the price? I can’t remember.

Probably should rename it: Games With PoolNation FX

Sorry… I stole that joke from NeoGAF. It was too funny not to share. I’m still laughing at it.

#11

Yeah, PoolNation, like a fungus you just can’t get rid of, but moving on…

Massive Chalice is a good pick up for them. I haven’t been following it much, but I love me some Double Fine and the very early unfinished looks were promising.

Black Flag, huh? Even though Black Flag is a better game, I would have preferred Unity considering I haven’t played it.

One of July’s two games for Xbox One, So Many Me, remains available until August 15.

I forgot to download Ground Zeroes when it was for PS+, so glad I’ll at least get a second chance here.

###Xbox One

  • The Deer God - September 1 through September 30

  • Tomb Raider Definitive Edition - September 16 through October 15
    ###Xbox 360

  • Battlestations Pacific - September 1 through September 15

  • Crysis 3 - September 16 through September 30

via Game Informer:

Update: Microsoft has responded to our inquiry about backward compatibility timing as it relates to Games with Gold. "“When backward compatibility launches in November, all future Xbox 360 Games with Gold titles will be playable on Xbox One,” a representative told us via email. “That means Xbox Live Gold members will get more free games to play each month on Xbox One. Our goal is to make as many Xbox 360 titles playable on Xbox One as possible, including past Games with Gold Titles.”

So, while you shouldn’t count on Crysis 3 and Battlestations Pacific hitting Xbox One via backward compatibility this month (if you’re in the preview program), there’s a chance they could arrive later.
